Green Kids Early Learning (GKEL) is an 80 place childcare centre in Hampton Park, Melbourne. After the success of the Barry Beckett Children’s Centre website and photography, GKEL phoned to get their own website and photo shoot done. Rachaellee, the Centre Co-ordinator, wanted to add a gallery of images to the site and be able to update information quickly when needed, as well as having the website mobile and tablet friendly, so the website was designed in WordPress, reflecting the colour scheme and curves of GKEL’s logo.
The photo shoot occurred over two days at Hampton Park. GKEL had received a Childrens Capital Grant from the Victorian Department of Education in 2012 and used it renovate the facility with new indoor and outdoor learning play spaces. The landscaped gardens in particular added to the look of the photos and increased the Centre’s appeal. GKEL did not have any prior photos of their Centre, so I aimed to make the photo shoot produce the best possible photos with a wide variety of settings.
The original Barry Beckett Children’s Centre photo shoot proved that photos can be a massive selling point for childcare centres. Time poor parents really enjoy viewing engaging photos of childcare centres before committing to inspection appointments and Barry Beckett had a huge increase in traffic and appointments after launching their website. Rachaellee wanted the same thing done for GKEL and the photo shoot and website now allow GKEL to visually sell the Centre online to parents at home, without the need for multiple appointments at different Centres.
